If you didn't run, what would you be doing?

Where would you be/what would you be doing if you didn't run or take part in some sort of athletic event?

I'd like to hear your answers.

My answer - I would probably be super bored and searching for an outlet. I'd still be a gym rat, but I would be a weight-lifting rat specifically. I may not have lost my baby weight as fast. I wouldn't have met a lot of great people/friends. I may not have met my husband if it hadn't been for that first day in the pool that I taught him some swim technique (which ended up not helping him since he was ahead of the curve. Yeah, he already knew every drill I gave him).

How would your life be different?

  1. Great post...yes sport, sport and more always nicer and cheaper than shopping, shopping and shopping, favourite sport in Hong Kong!

    Cheers from Hong Kong!

  2. Hmmm, I'm not sure what I'd be into. I've tried to get into other hobbies like knitting, scrapbooking, and yoga, but I don't have the attention span and get bored with them.

I know I'd never would have developed a love for being outside in the rain. Those are some of most enjoyable runs now.

  3. Um, let's see...I'd be wearing a funny white jacket in an institution? Seriously, though, I can't imagine finding something else I enjoy so much. Kind of bad, kind of good!

  4. I wouldn't be as confident and I"d probably still be 30lbs overweight!

  5. Hi! Stopping by from MBC. Great blog.

    Have a nice day!

  6. Definitely an interesting thing to think about. I probably wouldn't be injured right now (and for the past 6mos on and off) if I wasn't a runner, but I probably would have fewer goals and less drive. I wouldn't know what it's like to cross the finish line of a marathon and all the dedication and drive and endurance that takes. I wouldn't be as strong as I am today if I wasn't a runner.

  7. Hmmm...I'm not sure what I would be doing. Fitness is such a big part of my life that I think I would literally be lost without it.
